“The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way.”
- Marcus Aurelius
Founded in 2016, Tradesman Fire & Fabrication was born of a relentless desire to bring realism to every aspect of firefighter training.
Each prop is made entirely in-house by current (and one former) union firefighters, and tested and improved by some of the best Fire Service instructors from across the country. Each component is made to exacting specifications using CNC plasma cutting and routing processes from heavy duty steel, aluminum, and high strength polymers, and fabricated to strict tolerances. Our patented Forcible Entry Door Stile System is the only system in the on the market that offers realistic flexibility, deformability, and resistance, all at an affordable operating cost, and is the foundation of every door prop model, from retrofit kits for existing commercial or homemade door prop frames, to our full service complete models.
In addition to our popular forcible entry door props, we also manufacture realistic through-the-lock entry training props and tools. Additional products are currently in development.
Tradesman also offers high quality training and instruction services. Classes emphasize attention to the details, with systematic approaches to deal with the widest range of situations with the fewest changes in variables. All programs are based in algorithmic approaches to deal with the challenges firefighters and other professionals are most likely to encounter, not “tools in the toolbox” for improbable situations. We are constantly evaluating and refining our techniques and delivery in both realistic training environments and the field.
Our Hands On Training cadre are hand picked based on their experience, knowledge of the subject matter and their ability to convey it. We come to share what we know and make our service better, not brag or tell war stories. Each member of our cadre is personally invested in making sure each and every firefighter they teach has their questions answered and leaves better prepared to serve their community. All cadre members coordinate to teach the same methods, techniques, and information, so there are no misunderstandings and confusion for the learners from one to the next.
